The Cackling Cannoneer is a Seasonal Spirit from the Season of Abyss who offers the 
Rire Diabolique Expression. The Cackling Cannoneer is found in the Treasure Reef, on the big island to the player's left, where the Abyss Guide's ship is docked. The collectibles offered by this Spirit are a 
Masque, a 
Cheveux, a 
Cape, and the 
Partition 26.

Memory[]
The Cackling Cannoneer can be found in the Treasure Reef, on the big island to the player's left-handed side where the Abyss Guide's ship is docked, past the Bumbling Boatswain and near a broken, wooden boat. This Spirit has a standard memory with 7 memory fragments and an unlimited overall time limit.
As their memory unfolds, the Cackling Cannoneer can be seen carrying a harpoon gun and sauntering up the slope with the Abyss Guide, who carries a rolled-up target sheet. They stop at a broken wall to prepare for what seems like target practice. The Cannoneer gestures the Abyss Guide to hurry ahead to nail the target sheet to a faraway wall before running back to take cover. Once the two Spirits are safely out of the way, the Cackling Cannoneer takes aim and shoots - hitting the bullseye dead-on. The two Spirits go and observe the target sheet, happy with the shot.
At the end of the memory, the Abyss Guide punches the air in delight while the Cackling Cannoneer throws their head back and arms halfway up while laughing heartily and gleefully, pleased by the incredibly successful shot.

Expression[]
This Spirit offers the Rire Diabolique Expression, which has 4 Levels.
- Level 1 will make your avatar throw back their head and lift up their clenched fists before laughing heartily, their whole body shaking with the motion, while dark bassoon sound effects play.
- Level 2 makes the same motion as Level 1, with red flames igniting and quickly flaming up as your avatar lifts their hands, then burning in place from their hands. This level is also accompanied by a flame igniting sound effect at the beginning of the Expression.
- Level 3 will make your avatar start to laugh slowly, with their head tilted down and their hands close to their body, before spreading their legs further apart, throwing their head back, and lifting up their arms with clenched fists away from their body while laughing manically, while rising bassoon sound effects play.
- Level 4 makes the same motion as Level 3, with several high red flames igniting around your avatar on the ground as soon as they spread their legs further apart.
As a Traveling Spirit, the prices of the three Expression upgrades were the standard 4 
, 3 , and 6 . During the Season, Levels 2 and 4 were free, but were only available to Season Pass holders.
Cosmetics[]
Mask[]
The Mask offered by this Spirit includes an incomplete, dark gray, diagonally-cracked mask with uneven holes for the eyes and a light crack near the chin that sits on the lower half of the face, and three gray, faded, triangle-shaped markings printed across the exposed forehead, costing 40 
from the Traveling Spirit. It was available to all players during the Season from the Friendship Tree's third node (28 
total).
Hair[]
This Hair offered by this Spirit includes a set of three long, fluffy braids on the right half on the head, two of which hang over the shoulder in the front. Each braid has small strands sticking out, and is tied with wide brown bands at the bottom. The left side of the Hair is shaved and decorated with three triangle-shaped, faded markings near the hairline. The Hair costs 50 from the Traveling Spirit. It was a Season Pass exclusive item during the Season, available after unlocking the Friendship Tree's sixth node (108 total).
Cape[]
The Cape offered by this Spirit consists of two layers, tied together in the front with a square-shaped, golden brooch with a turquoise stone, and are shifted slightly to the side: a tattered, dark green cloak, and a shorter, also tattered, layer on top with dark purple scales, costing 70 from the Traveling Spirit. It was available to all players during the Season from the Friendship Tree's fifth node (74 total).
Music Sheet[]
The Cackling Cannoneer offers the 
Music Sheet #26, costing 15 from the Traveling Spirit. It was a Season Pass exclusive item during the Season, available after unlocking the Friendship Tree's second node (8 ). It is a song in the key of C Major.
Traveling Spirit[]
Cet Esprit n'est pas encore revenu en tant qu'Esprit Voyageur. - The sound effect during
Rire Diabolique and four other particular Expressions ( Bâiller, Rire, Ricaner, and Éternuer) are different when heard from unlit (gray) and extinguished players. This difference extends to all Levels of the Expression.
