This page contains information gathered regarding Sky on the PS4 and PS5 platform. Please use this page as a PlayStation-specific elaboration of the content already found on the Wiki. Check out the Getting Started page as well as other pages on this Wiki for the general gameplay of Sky. The gameplay is the same on all devices; some menu options and game save information are the only ones that are going to be different.
Sky for PlayStation released on December 6, 2022. New features exclusive to PlayStation includes trophies, as well as the ability to restrict cross-platform gameplay. Outside of these aspects, experiencing Sky on PlayStation is identical to previous releases. Similar to Nintendo Switch, no online subscription (PlayStation+) is required in order to play Sky.

TGC-Allowed Download Stores[]
The game is available for download from the PlayStation store, subject to your region. Any other sources for download are against Sky's TOS.
Requirements for Downloading Sky[]
Similar to Sky for Nintendo Switch, there are no system requirements to play Sky due to how the console only has a few variations. However, only the PlayStation 4 (including Slim and Pro variants) and PlayStation 5 support Sky. On the console, you may require:
- Approximately 2GB of free storage to download.
- A PlayStation Network account (differing from PS+) - Guest Accounts will not be able to play.
Controls on PlayStation[]
Below are the controls and what each button does in normal gameplay. There are also button prompts within menus. There is currently no way to remap the controls for any DualSense or DualShock controller outside of changing the button inputs for the console entirely.

Linking your Game[]
To protect your Sky account, it is important to link it to any account service provider listed below:
- Game Center (Apple platform exclusive) • Permanently Bound

- Nintendo • Permanently Bound After Buying an IAP [1]
- Huawei ID
- PlayStation® Network • Permanently Bound
- Steam • Permanently Bound After Buying an IAP

On the PlayStation, you will not be able to link to above accounts if it was not done before on a mobile device. Subsequently, you can only link to the above from a mobile device such as iOS or Android.
Linking account will allow players to recover their accounts themselves upon re-installs or when switching devices. Keeping record of your Sky ID - Sky 'Settings -> 'Account' -> 'Account Info' - will also be a way to recover account progress. However, this requires the help of a TGC Support representative, which may take a certain number of business days. TGC will also ask players for their Sky ID if a giveaway is won. Keep in mind to keep your Sky ID safe from everybody, it acts as the key into your account. If you are contacted by TGC, ensure it is from official sources.
You may link more than one account service to your Sky account at a same time. You may also link your account service to a Live Sky account and Beta Sky account at the same time, since Live accounts and Beta accounts are separated and run independently (progress is not carried). However, each account service can only be linked to one Live Sky account. For example, you may link your account to Google and Facebook account at the same time, but you cannot link another Sky account to the same Google account.
Linking Playstation network to Sky[]
- Log into your Sky Account from a mobile device (iOS, Android)
- Press the cog icon in the top right corner of the game screen to open the Utility Menu and go to the ‘Account’ tab, with the check/tick.
- In the Account Menu, scroll down until you see 'PlayStation™ Network' and go into 'Link'
- Sign in to your PlayStation Network Account
- Please use caution and make sure you're linking to the correct PlayStation Network Account. You can check which email is used for the desired account by following these steps while logged into desired user on the console: 'Menu' (Top right corner in home-screen with cog icon) -> 'Users and Accounts' -> 'Account' -> 'Sign-in ID (Email Address)'
Accidentally creating a new Sky Account[]
If you have accidentally created a new Sky Account on your PlayStation when you instead meant to continue playing on an existing Sky Account, or you have accidentally linked the wrong PlayStation Network (PNS) Account, see the following steps to fix this.
- Log into the new Sky account
- A confirmation screen will come up. Press 'Confirm'
- Wait 30 full days for the deletion request to be fulfilled
- Make sure you have requested to delete the correct account - This request will completely delete this account and all its progress and it will not be recoverable in any way.
- Once the account has been deleted, follow the steps from the above section to correctly link the PSN Account to the existing account.
Handling more than one Sky account[]
Multiple people can play Sky under different Sky accounts on the same PlayStation device by utilizing the PlayStation users feature. You can read further about this in TGC's helpshift article. Be aware that handling more than one account by yourself with the intentions of self-gain is strongly discouraged by TGC because it is considered self-botting and against Sky's TOS.
"For the protection of your progress and data we encourage you not to do this. We do not advise the creation of multiple Sky accounts for use by a single person. Doing this can cause errors on each of the accounts that may be difficult or impossible to fix by yourself or the TGC team."
Online Friending[]
PlayStation players are able to generate QR codes to add iOS, Android, Huawei, or select friends and add them directly from their PSN friends list. They can do that by going into settings (Option button on the controller) or the constellation at Home and selecting the Invite option. To invite a friend playing on PlayStation, you can select the first option, "PlayStation Network friend" and select invite. If you want to friend a Mobile, Nintendo or PC Player, tap onto "Mobile Player" and create a nickname for them. A unique Sky Code will be generated for them which they can scan or import on their device. More instructions for making friends via codes can be found here.
Virtual Sky Keyboard[]
Virtual Sky Keyboard is a feature introduced in Patch 0.15.5 for Sky on Nintendo Switch, where you can use the chat function from an external mobile device. It was made available for PlayStation in Patch 0.21.5. To access this feature:
- Open settings (Option button on the controller) to display the game menu.
- Press the Keyboard option in the menu.
- Scan the QR code on your mobile device. Most devices can natively scan the QR Code from the system Camera app, but some may require an external QR Scanning application to scan it. This will take you to the Sky Keyboard website (https://keyboard.sky.thatgame.co/) on your mobile browser. You will know you have successfully connected if you see a message that says "Successfully Linked" with a checkmark inside a mobile icon.
- Use your mobile device to type your message as normal and send it by pressing on the message bubble icon. You can use text and emoji, and a button at the bottom of the mobile screen allows you to choose between light and dark mode for the site.
- To disconnect your mobile device from the current chat session, press the Keyboard button on the menu again and select "unlink".
Keep in mind that the Virtual Sky Keyboard has the same character limit as regular in-game chat; 140 bytes. In addition, this limit also applies to message boats and message candles, which ordinarily have a limit of 256 bytes.
STAR Pins[]
Due to PlayStation not natively supporting NFC, scanning STAR is impossible and its features won't be able to be done.
In-App Purchases[]
The Shop on every platform has the same base prices. Independent of your OS, there will also be regional differences in pricing, though the base pricing set by TGC is, again, the same. If a purchase is made on the PlayStation website, the purchase will be processed and charged however the items will not be received until you log into Sky on the PlayStation platform. Unlike the Nintendo Switch, candle packs bought on the PlayStation device will be under the same count as other devices. In addition any cosmetic packs will be shared among the linked devices - For example if the PlayStation Sky account has the Traveler's Cape, so will the linked iPhone Sky account.

Originally a PlayStation exclusive, the "Journey Pack" is available on all platforms for US$24.99. [2] in the Aviary Event Store. It contains Traveler's Cape, Hood, and a Mask that grants a unique Journey-inspired voice when worn. To hear the Journey-inspired voice, call with the default call on.
The pack can be gifted to other players using the in-game gifting system within a players friendship tree.[3]

Accessing items purchased online/from the PlayStation Store website[]
Purchases made from the PlayStation Store website on a PC or web browser will be inaccessible until the game is launched from a PlayStation Console. Once the game has been launched from your PlayStation by signing in with the PlayStation™Network account through which you made the purchase and that is linked to your Sky progress, your purchases will become available.
Journey Pack in shop after being purchased on the PlayStation Store website
To claim a purchase made on the website:
- Open Sky on the PlayStation Console.
- Open settings (Option button on the controller) to display the game menu and click on Shop.
- The item purchased on the PlayStation Store website/app should be available to claim for "Free" in the shop.
- Select "yes" to the "redeem purchase for free" prompt and the items should be automatically equipped on the character and available in the outfit shrine.
Moments Camera Controls[]
Moments Guide Prop Camera
Two new Camera Props were added during Season of Moments where players on all platforms can take in-game screenshots without game UI or labels.
- Players can equip the camera from the Prop section of an Outfit Shrine.
- Press the Triangle button to open the Expression Menu and select the
camera icon. - Press R2 to open the camera.
- Press R1 to switch between the different camera modes which are: handheld (default), selfie (flip camera) and tripod (use tripod).
- Use the D-pad to adjust and switch between the different photo settings like zoom, blur and light exposure.
- Press down on the Right stick to Pin Focus and give an object focus priority when moving the camera.
- Press R2 to take a picture; unlike mobile players PlayStation players will have to manually use the console screenshot capture to save the image to the console.
- Press L1 to close the camera.
To capture and share screenshots on PlayStation 4 consoles, please refer to the guidelines provided by PlayStation.
To capture screenshots on PlayStation 5 consoles, please refer to the guidelines provided by PlayStation. Players on PlayStation 5 consoles can access screen captures through the PlayStation App for Android and iOS.
Cross-platform[]
Unique to the PlayStation Platform, the player is able to disable Cross-Platform gameplay. This is found in the Sky 'Menu' -> 'Online'. This allows the player to either play in the 'global' servers with players from every other platform, or switch to PlayStation-exclusive servers where only players on the PlayStation platform and also have Cross-Platform off can meet.
- Turning OFF Cross-Platform Play will only allow other PlayStation players that have also turned this feature OFF to join you on your Sky adventures.
- Turning ON Cross-Platform Play will allow players from other platforms, such as iOS, Android, Huawei, Nintendo Switch, etc, to join you in Sky, as well as other PlayStation players that have also turned this feature ON.
If a player disables Cross-Platform Play, they will receive a warning letting them know that this is not the recommended way to enjoy Sky. If they proceed, they will be automatically signed out of their Sky game and need to relaunch the game again, which will place them on PlayStation-exclusive servers.

Trivia[]
- The controller's lights glow red when you take out a candle. It also changes color in different Realms, such as dark green in Golden Wasteland and dark blue in the Vault of Knowledge.
